The stash room

I have been on Holidays since last week. I knew one major thing I wanted to get done was to finally clean out the stash room and get it done.

In my opinion it is still a WIP but looks so much better then it did at the beginning if the month! I have also been watching and talking to Christin and getting some inspiration and ideas

No before pics coming as the mess was insane!

But, here are some after pics for you to see. (Sorry if the light is bad, pics taken with iPhone and the light in room isn't good... yet)

This is the view from the door. On the right is my "office"area, followed by my new corner table (from Ikea)

Next is my sewing machine table that was my grandmothers. I don't know how to use it very well, but hope to take some classes in the fall. To the left of the sewing machine is my new bookcase. BIG thanks to Christin for this idea. It was very affordable and easy to put together. The bookcase holds some sewing supplies and my older magazines (in the white binders).

Next wall is where the bigger window is and my "seating" area. I wasn't sure I wanted these chairs in here, but they are growing on me. I just need to find some nice new cushions in the accent colour I choose. These chairs belonged to my Great Uncle Allan. They are the only thing I have that was his, so I defintely want to keep them somewhere in the house. The table in the middle was given to me by my Aunt. She did a green mosaic design on the top. The Quilt to the left was a wedding present from my gramma. She made each of her grandchildren one. The boys got horses and the girls got butterflies. They are embroidered and then hand quilted all by her.

And finally the stash area :) The cubes on the left (4 little drawers) hold all my thread. The drawers in the middle hold my fabric. All the black binders hold my charts and current years magazines. On top is a teddy bear my hubby gave me for my birthday a few years ago, my ginghers in my first scissor frog, and my new ort jar. Beside that is a little basket for some easy access floss bags etc., then a bucket for thread that needs to be sorted. Next is the area for charts and magazines that need to but put away.

I hope you have enjoyed your short tour of my stash room. Come back in a few days for a more detailed post of how I have everything organized :)

Happy to help. Your room has really come together. Let me know if you need more ideas etc.
Oh, and glad the boys have somewhere to watch from (you might need a bigger table :))

I'm glad you don't come check out mine...it would consist of about 10 plastic bags with a skein of floss or two, a few broken down cardboard boxes shoved in the closet and god knows where the material is!

Looks great...when can I come see it in person!?!?!
