March'13 WIPocolypse and Ornament SAL

Today is WIPocolypse day!

I think I did pretty good since last month.

First off I had a massive HAPPY DANCE!

Now for the Ornament SAL update.  I did get an ornament done as well this month!
I went back to working on the Days of Christmas from Dragon Dreams.

Day 3 - 3 French Hens

The desolation of Smaug, IHSW post Mar'13, and post retreat

I had a GREAT weekend at retreat, which was held in Brighton Ontario at the Timber House.




Friday night I was fed up with Smaug! I ended up throwing it in the fire!!




DON'T WORRY!!!!! I only burned my working copy and the horrible thread ;). After 7 + years working on it it was great to sign my name to this WIP

After I finished the back stitching early Friday night, I pulled out my Lizzie Kate ABC Christmas. I am now 50% done!




When I put my LK away I decided to pull out an ornament to work on since I haven't done one for March yet!

This is where I was as of tonight. It is day #3 from Dragon Dreams (3 French hens).

Oh just in case you are curious, I think my exam Thursday night went well. I will find out for sure on May 2nd. Until then, no more courses, but there will be tax season. Lots more stitching anticipated though!!

Stitching update - March 2013

This post is a few days behind too

I hit a mini happy dance on Smaug this week! Yep all the stitching is done!!!
I have also gotten between 1/4 to 1/2 do the back stitching done as well.




No more updates on this until after the weekend... I'll explain why on Friday :)

Tomorrow is my tax exam... Wish me luck! :)

IHSW - Post Feb'13

This was another IHSW weekend. It also happened to be Family Day in Ontario which meant I got an extra day to hermit at home and stitch.

I decided to work on Smaug this weekend

Theme-a-licious January 2013

Today is the last day of the month which means it is time for a Theme-a-licous checkin

 

The theme for January was:

Jardin January
The holidays were a little stressful...let's relax in a nice garden. Work on any piece with flowers or gardens.

Well I worked on Maple leaf, Sampler gameboard, and Smaug.

The maple leaf could quality since leaves are in gardens

The Gameboard does have some flowers... but haven't really done much of those yet

Smaug really doesn't have flowers

The ornament theme was:

Here is one area I did follow the theme
I finished day one of the dragon dreams dronglets of 2012 which is "Partridge in a pear tree" or is it "dragon in a pear tree" lol

WIPocalypse report for January 2013

It looks like another full moon, which means it is time for another WIPocalypse post.

Well my name is Bonnie I am live in a small town east of Toronto, ON.  I have been stitching for quite a few years, but my passion have grown 10 fold since meeting a great group of ladies almost 5 years ago who are great enablers.  I also have been enabled by a great group on Facebook called the Superstar Serial Starters and Divine Disciplined Divas (SSS/DDD)

My WIP's at the beginning of the year are (and in no particular order):

 This year I planned to do 2 new starts on January 1st.  I started the AAN Maple leaf with my stitching friends, and the Sampler Gameboard as a SAL with the SSS/DDD Board on Facebook.
The gameboard was started in the afternoon, but haven't managed to work on it much since then.

I stayed up until midnight on new years to start the maple leaf.  It was a fun stitch and managed to finish it on January 14th.

My goals for the year at the moment are:

• Finish Smaug - hopefully by the end of spring if not sooner


• Start Belle's Letters (B) by GigiR on February 1st with the SSS/DDD Facebook group


• Start Fortunate Traveller with Dani, Christin, and Beatrice on May 1st.


• Stitch an ornament a month


• Re-start my HAED (for the 3rd time) and try to get a page done.


• Try to reduce the other WIP's I have going.

I do have a few other little finishes to share, but will wait until the Ornament SAL post at the end of the month :)

IHSW Jan 2013 - Post report

Sorry this post is a day late... assignment had to come first

This past weekend was IHSW.  I did stitch, but hermiting was done with 17 other people as I was at the annual Knowledge and Needles January retreat.

I work on a few other things, but I tried to concentrate on Smaug.  Saturday night we had a bit of a disagreement though.  He does live under my roof, you would think he would discuss inviting a FROG over to visit!  Sunday evening when I got home we talked it out and I kicked that free loading frog to the curb!
