September 2018 plans

Well hello September!
I am continuing to reduce my plans for the months until my stitchy bug shows that it will stick around.

1) ORNAMENT A MONTH
  • I am now behind for July and August... so I am going to try and get caught up by doing at least two this month.  I have started one... I just have to finish it
  • I also need to get an ornament ready for November retreat... so I really need to get on these!
2) YEAR IN CHALK
  • October is up next
3) DUTCH TILE SAL
  • I would like to stay caught up on this SAL.  I am only one part behind as of the 3rd of September.  The 6th part comes out on the 8th and the 7th on the 21st.  While weekends are going to be busy this month, I should be able to manage this.
  • Maybe I will have a finish in October after the 8th part comes out!!
4) WIP
  • There are so many things I want to start... but need to keep WIPS at a maximum of 10 (where I find it comfortable).
  • This means getting back to focusing on something during the month.
  • My oldest non-UFO wips are Canada Sampler and Tapestry.  I will make one of these my focus until its done... probably Tapestry.
Wishing you all a happy, and productive September!

July 2018 plans

HELLO JULY
Hope all my Canadian readers had a wonderful Canada DAY!

1) ORNAMENT A MONTH
  • This month I am picking one of the carolers from Christmas Chorus in Cross Stitch Favourites from a while back. This is designed from Durene Jones.
2) YEAR IN CHALK
  • August is up next
3) LONG DOG SAL - Long Dog Samplers Mystery - Sneek
  • Start and finish Part 5
4) FOCUS WIP
  • This month is time to show Canada Sampler some much needed love, and I thought this was the perfect month to do that.
  • I will also try and get at least one more cactus done on the Prickly but Cute SAL
5) NEW START
  • The new Peppermint Purple Dutch tile blackwork SAL has started.  I would like to try to actually keep up with this one.  Since it is smallish, this shouldn't be an issue!

6) INK CIRCLES MONDAY
  • Every Monday give an ink circles pattern at least a little love.
  • Use the hashtags #InkCirclesMonday in Instagram
  • For more information, see April 2018 plans post

2018 Plans

Can you believe we are in the final few days of 2017!
2017 has gone by incredibly fast... especially the past few months

January 1st start
On January 1st most years I do a new start with at least a few friends.  Some years there are more of us, and some years just a few.
This year I am starting Dragons of Sumatra from Ink Circles with at least 4 of them (I honestly can't
remember who all is starting)
Dragons of Sumatra - Ink Circles

I plan to stitch it on 32ct white with a Silks4U that I got custom dyed.
Hank of Silk from Silks4U

Year In Chalk
Something else I am doing is one of the Year in Chalk per month.  I had started January in the hopes that I can be a month ahead, get it stitched and finished to display in the month.  I think I have talked my good friend Becca to do this with me throughout the year.
I am doing these on 32ct  slate from Hand Dyed Fabrics by Stephanie with the called for chalk thread from Sampler Threads.  I will be using other over dyes for the highlight colours, but I am trying to pull from my stash where possible since they don't use a whole skein.
A Year in Chalk - Hands on Design

Critters
Another friend, Kathy,  has been "bugging" me about my Just Nan critters.  I have a TON of them, and they are just sitting in the packages waiting for some love.  I have only stitched 2 of them and neither are assembled.  I have decided to TRY and do a month as well.
Just Nan - Little Princess Snow

Death By Cross Stitch
Something else I have been DYING to start is Death by Cross Stitch from Long Dog Samplers.  Dani and I have decided once we both got our BAP's done we are starting.  I have finished my Leaves, and now Dani just has to finish her Big Red.  If you want to watch her poppy grow, check our her Instagram account.  I'm bbrown426 on Instagram by the way :)
Death By Cross Stitch - Long Dog Samplers
I plan to do mine on 32ct white lugana with DMC 154, which I was lucky enough to get entire cone of.
DMC - 154
WIPS
I also have the following WIP's left over to carry into 2018
Cirque des Coeurs - Ink Circles
Canada Sampler - Stitchrovia
Tapestry - Ink Circles
Fairy Alighting - X's and O's
Coffee Quaker - Heartstring Samplery

What are your plans for 2018!

Week 1 - Canada Sampler

Happy New Year everyone!!
January 1 was a new start with some stitchy friends
This year we are doing the Canada Sampler from Stitchrovia

I have worked on it all week and managed to get some good progress in.
It helped having no plans on Jan 1st and no university course this week.
I am contemplating a rotation again (Monday - Sunday), but I am really enjoying this! I might just give it a second round! My next University course starts today, so this week probably won't see as much progress, but some is better then none!

Hope you all have a fabulous week
Bonnie
