I stitched this with the called for DMC and Kreinik, and stitched on Willow Wisp from Handy Dyed Fabric by Stephanie

Weekly update - March 16, 2015

Behind again in blogging... Seems to be the broken record this year.

This weekend was the spring retreat. I managed to get some stitching in between chatting and running around
Here are my WIP updates on all projects I worked on.









At retreat I also received an early birthday present.

Ann and Nan stopped in on Saturday to show off the awesome quilt they and some other Stitchers did. I helped on this one too!

TUSAL Nov'14

It's been almost a month since I last posted :(
I've had a good excuse though... I'm in full on study mode! I also had a nasty case of strep throat.
I've missed blogging though, so wanted to make sure I got TUSAL in

As you can see not much stitching this month







The white is from a new project I started and will share below, the dark red from baroque, and the others are from jingles I think.

Now on to the other project
When I got one of the latest FOTM from Steph's fabrics I just knew I wanted to do the AAN ornament from the JCS magazine. I managed to finish it at retreat.




My exam is December 1st, but after that I hope to go back to blogging regularly again!

Update - Halloween town and Celtic banner

It has been a few weeks so I though it was time for an update.

I am trying a weekly theme SAL again (from Facebook), and last week was holiday week. I picked up the AAN Mystery SAL - Halloween town
Left is the start, right is where I stopped last Saturday




After I had enough of the Halloween town, I pulled out Fortunate Traveller but Christin thought it would be a good idea for her to get a little further on hers, so them I pulled out Celtic Banner. I then realized it was Sampler a Week.
Again, start is on left, and today is on the right




This week is choose your own week (SAL runs Sunday to Saturday). I might stay on Celtic Banner, but not sure. After a few hours of driving and shopping, I'm exhausted and not sure I feel like stitching tonight.

Wings - WU March 16'14

This week didn't see much stitching until the weekend.
Monday was my accounting exam, and Tuesday/Wednesday was packing days.
This weekend I did stitch though.
I didn't really stick to things with wings though.... Unless you count leaves falling lol



I managed to finish the third page on Autumn Leaves.

I also started part 2 of the AAN mystery sal



I also worked on Poinsettia Place (Santa's Village)

February 2014 Wipocolypse

It's time for another Wipocolypse post. If you want more information on what that is, check out Measi's Blog

First the Stitchers question:
How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time? Tell us about your one-at-a-time or rotation habits!

I don't know the exact number I feel comfortable with, but I do know it would be less then I have. This year I moved a few WIP's to the UFO pile, the last one being bramble and the rose.

Since I have many on the go, I'm obviously not a one at a time stitcher. Lately I've been doing a weekly theme rotation I found on Facebook. I find this actually does help! I also use creative license to make a WIP fit in a theme if it's calling to me.

Okay now for my progress:

First up is Santa's Village
I finished Santa's house on February 2nd



On February 7th I started the AAN mystery SAL called Halloween Town
I'm using Stephs bewitched, and the called for DMC. I finished part 1 on the 9th



Next up for themes was my oldest WIP. I first pulled out bramble, but after a few hours it finally went to the UFO pile



After bramble, I pulled out my next oldest WIP which also happens to be a design by Ink Circles - Rosetta
Here is progress to last night



I think that is it for the month, according to my journal anyway!

Mini - WU February 8th

I actually managed to stitch a bit this week... After the assignment was done.
My ornament wasn't calling AT ALL, so I was really happy when Part 1 of the AAN Mystery SAL was released early.

Not sure if it classifies as a mini but each part kinda is right? :)

Theme-a-licious January 2013

Today is the last day of the month which means it is time for a Theme-a-licous checkin

 

The theme for January was:

Jardin January
The holidays were a little stressful...let's relax in a nice garden. Work on any piece with flowers or gardens.

Well I worked on Maple leaf, Sampler gameboard, and Smaug.

The maple leaf could quality since leaves are in gardens

The Gameboard does have some flowers... but haven't really done much of those yet

Smaug really doesn't have flowers

The ornament theme was:
January
tree or wreath

Here is one area I did follow the theme
I finished day one of the dragon dreams dronglets of 2012 which is "Partridge in a pear tree" or is it "dragon in a pear tree" lol

WIPocalypse report for January 2013

It looks like another full moon, which means it is time for another WIPocalypse post.

Well my name is Bonnie I am live in a small town east of Toronto, ON.  I have been stitching for quite a few years, but my passion have grown 10 fold since meeting a great group of ladies almost 5 years ago who are great enablers.  I also have been enabled by a great group on Facebook called the Superstar Serial Starters and Divine Disciplined Divas (SSS/DDD)

My WIP's at the beginning of the year are (and in no particular order):

• Magnificent Wizard , also known as Blairs Stupid dragon, and also now known as Smaug.


• Lizzie Kate's Christmas ABC


• Ink Circles Rosetta


• Ink Circles Bramble and Rose


• Fish City


• Mirabilia's Sabrina


• Heaven & Earth's Magic Evening

As of today, I have only worked on Smaug and the Lizzie Kate

 This year I planned to do 2 new starts on January 1st.  I started the AAN Maple leaf with my stitching friends, and the Sampler Gameboard as a SAL with the SSS/DDD Board on Facebook.
The gameboard was started in the afternoon, but haven't managed to work on it much since then.

I stayed up until midnight on new years to start the maple leaf.  It was a fun stitch and managed to finish it on January 14th.

My goals for the year at the moment are:

• Finish Smaug - hopefully by the end of spring if not sooner


• Start Belle's Letters (B) by GigiR on February 1st with the SSS/DDD Facebook group


• Start Fortunate Traveller with Dani, Christin, and Beatrice on May 1st.


• Stitch an ornament a month


• Re-start my HAED (for the 3rd time) and try to get a page done.


• Try to reduce the other WIP's I have going.

I do have a few other little finishes to share, but will wait until the Ornament SAL post at the end of the month :)

Leaf Happy Dance

Last night I got to stitch while I watched my lecture.

This gave that little extra time I needed to FINISH the maple leaf!

I finished the stitching just around 9pm and beaded until it was done.

Day 6

Since New Year's Day I have been working on the maple leaf and the Gameboard. Tomorrow Smaug will make his re-appearance since the plan is still to get him done sooner then later :)

Pre 2013 Planning

I did manage to work on the dragon last night, but forgot to take pictures.  Will do tomorrow :)

How many of you plan for the following year, stitching wise?  I normally don't do too much planing, other than a bucket list of patterns I want to do... which seems to keep GROWING!

A group of us in my stitching group like to do a January 1st start each year.  This year is was the seasonal mandalas from Ink Circles.  I finished mine in August.

This year we wanted to go with something a little smaller for a few reasons.  We decided in September to do the Maple Leaf by Alessandra Adelaide.

A few months early, Dani and Christin were talking about doing another Teresa Wentzler.  I had started the castle but thought it might be fun to join in with them.  After much discussion  they (maybe us?) decided on Fortunate Traveler.  Beatrice has also decided to join us.  I asked that we waited a bit in 2013 to start due to tax season for me.  Being the great ladies they are, we agreed on a May 1'13 start.  

Have you ever done a TW?  She sure likes her blended colours.  For one idea on how to deal with these, check out Christin's Blog today.  She has a demo on how she does a needle roll to deal with all the blended needles.  I am going to try this route for this BAP and see what I think.

Are you a facebook user?  if you are add me :)  I am on ALL THE TIME!

Anyway, I belong to a group of stitching called the Superstar Serial Starters and Devine Disaplined Divas, and their sister group the Stitchalong.  Talk about a bunch of enablers!!!  Genie is our group Mom, and she does a wonderful job of keeping the group in line and away from posts that cause fights (religion, politics etc).  Be warned, there is some non-stitching talk but normally not much.  Some days you might see a bunch of half naked men though.  Well this little group (over 1,000 members) has been on a role with creating SAL's for next year and into 2014!!!  I have thought about many, but have only decided to sign up for a few....so far

On January 1st I am also going to start the Sampler Game Board by Drawn Thread.  Kathy and Beatrice are also doing this one as well.

On March 1st I am also going to start Belle Letters by GigiR Designs (Letter B).  I have not decided who thread of fabric I am going to use yet.

There was a ton more that have interested me, but I think I am going to limit it at this for the time being!

I still am working toward getting Blair's Dragon done by Christmas, so hopefully my WIP's will still dwindle down as I add to them!
