Week 9 - My heart is full

Don't worry readers... I'm not getting mushy on ya!

My week consisted of lots of hearts
Not the beating, pushing blood through your body to keep you alive kind of hearts, but the kind brought to us by Ink Circles.

Last week this is where I left off with Cirque des Coeur

My fabric for my Long Dog Mystery SAL has finally shipped, but until it arrives, I will be working on April's Year in Chalk and then my monthly ornament.

2018 Week 6 - The cup is finished

This week I decided to get some stitching goals/plans down "on paper".

I continued with Coffee Quaker in the hopes of a happy dance by the end of the month.

This is where I was at for the start of the week:

 

 

I managed to get a bit done by Tuesday, but then it kinda sat for most of the week due to a busy work schedule (including most of Saturday) and the winter blahs

 

 

And this is my progress on Sunday:

That is right.... HAPPY DANCE!!! and my 4th finish for the year!
I seemed to find my rhythm on Sunday and get the bottom part all done. 

It was great to have a lazy day with no work and no school... I truly have missed these days!

Next up will be my monthly ornament (can I go 2 for 2 this year???), March year in chalk, and pulling Cirque de Coeur out to make it my focus for the rest of the month..

It has been a very long time since I last posted on my blog. Not really sure why, but having issues with apps on my iPad didn't help. Also, Instagram just seems easier lately, so I tend to post there more then anywhere (bbrown426 if you want to follow me)
I am going to try and get back to posting one a week again... Let's see how it goes :)

I will update you on what I have worked on for the last quarter of 2015 later. Now on to this year.

On January 1st I started Spring Quakers from Rosewood Manor.
This was a SAL with Dani and Christin.

Dani and I both managed to finish this yesturday!! I used the Valdani threads (which were lovely) and stitched it on 32ct Queen Anne's Lace.



I absolutely loved this one, and can't wait to start the other 3!

Today I am going to attempt a rotation. University has cut into my stitching time, so I'm thinking that one project a week will still let me see progress :)
First up is Little Alien Schoolgirl from Ink Circles. I'm doing this one with the called for Weeks threads and I'm sticking it on Stephs 32ct toasted almond Lugana.

Update

I can't believe I haven't updated my blog since TUSAL in September! I was at my moms for Thanksgiving dinner tonight and she kindly reminded me I needed to update ;)

Since then I have been busy with school work, but have also found some time to stitch

If you follow me on Instagram (bbrown426) you will have noticed I had a happy dance 2 weeks ago!







I then pulled out Snowy Christmas from AuryTM.
I managed to get it finished too, on October 5 to be exact



Since then I haven't really settled into one project. I worked on my autumn leaves for a bit, started an ornament, worked in my AAN Halloween town, then decided to start something new.

I have had everything ready for Lizzie Kate's Holley and Hearts mystery since the 3rd part was released. I started it on Saturday.
Here is my progress as of this afternoon.

Snow White - Little House Needleworks

I needed to finish an ornament for an exchange to mail out this week. I recently bought a bunch of supplies to help me in finishing ornaments other than the usual "pillow" finish (I call it anyway)
Instead of just doing one ornament, I did 3 and also finished Snow White like one too. Here are 2/3 of the ornaments and Snow White.












I am going to hang Snow White on my door at work :)

A finish from 2002

My gramma put names on everything.  If it was a gift she would write on the back or bottom of it who it was from so that when she passed that person would get it back.  She joined my grandfather January 11, 2010.

A few months ago I received back a cross-stitch I made for her for Christmas in 2002.

The interesting thing about this piece, is it is the first project I did that was on anything but aida.  The owner at my old LNS talked me into trying even-weave for this and I have never looked back

I was going to put it up at home, but decided to hang in my office at work.  My walls are bare there as I have Growth Rings to get framed, but have yet to do that.

I did work on the TW the castle that night, but realized that I had messed up at least one colour.  With all the blending I felt it would be easier to frog it and start over :(

So... I spend 1.5 nights frogging and then restarted.

This past saturday, I went on a road trip with a 3 stitching friends.  Around 9:30 Anne P., Beatrice, and Kathy picked me up and we went on our way to Quilts and Critters in Millbrook.  They were having they annual sale, and the 3 of them had never been.  First stop in Millbrook was a little shop called Bear Essentials.  It had losts of interesting things including tea pots, jewellery and art just to name a few.  Kathy pointed this little treasure out and I thought I just had to have it!

Lets just hope this little guy keeps the nastly frogs away... I have had enough of them lately!!

On our way back from Millbrook we stopped at a wonderful little shop called Herma's.  Lots and lots of very neat things in there as well as well as a ton of Gourment food.  I walked out of there with some garlic oil, steak seasoning, pepper jelly, and some blackcurrent jam.  After lunch at the Buttermilk we headed to a book store to look at there selection of cross stitch magazines and then on to another fabric store in Cobourg called Stitch Witch.  There I noticed the cutest set of scissor and just had to get them

Speacking of scissors, I got the new ginghers in the mail last week.. I think they are lovely!

A frog, an open house, and a finish

While at Rebecca's a few weeks ago I realized that I had two different dye lots for Cirque des Carreux!  I contacted Ann at Knowlege and Needles.  She said she had 6 skeins of Carries Autumn Leaves and would put them aside for me.  If it was one type I would have to frog about 1/3 out of what I had done.  If it was the other, I might as well start over.  Was I ever happy to see that she had the right ones I needed!!  On sunday, I frogged while I listened to a lecture.

Last Saturday (20th) I attended my third open house at Knowledge and Needles.  Read about my first and second times if you wish.  It is amazing the friendships I have created over the past 3 years... and it all started with opening that car door ;)

I forgot to take my SLR, but did get a couple of pictures.  I couldnt' decide what I wanted to work on, so I took out the JBW angel I started last week.  I am glad I decided on that since I was up and down most of the day.  I did do some shopping... some thread and some fabric.

After most people had left, Dani and Christin were heading back with Kathy to her place.  Kathy invited me to come back with them and stitch some more if I wanted.  Of course I said yes!  While I was there, I had a.....

FINISH!!



It was a small finish, but still a finish in my books!!  Upon the finish Kathy handed me the finish pom-poms.  I had intended to take some cute pics of them, but later on in the night, Dani also had a finish on a RR she was working on.  I imediately handed them over to her.  Check out her blog later and she might post about them.  I wonder who will get these next??

On the weekend I attended my first outing with the Northumberland Photography Club.  Unfortunately I think i got too much sun, and ended up leaving before the astronomy part.  I did get some neat pictures of the old cemetery, and I will post some pictures of that soon.

Finally an update

What can I say.... the last 3 weeks have been crazy!
Little Peru took a lot of energy out of me, and then I had Retreat, and then I felt under the weather

My little budy keeps getting bigger.  I still stop in the store every other day and check in on him.
Cathie has been doing an amazing job with him ever since she got home from her Holiday.
He is now almost completely house trained - only one little accident since she got back
WAY TO GO PERU!!!
He is also getting better on bitting (Big yah lol)

RETREAT

2 weeks ago (Nov 12-13) I attended the Knowledge and Needles fall retreat.  This was my 2nd year at this retreat and loved every minute of it!

Friday afternoon I arrived early and was soon met by Beatrice .

Later on Dani and Rebecca and Ann herself arrived as well as others without blogs.

Friday night we ate some yummy food and stitched.  I can't remember exactly what time, but we were not up too late Friday night. 

Saturday morning after breakfast, Dani and I went for a walk.  What a beautiful morning!

Saturday afternoon we went to Knowledge & Needles for Lunch and some stitching.

After lunch I did some shopping at the store.  I got some Carrie's Creations threads, some fabric, and some JBW Designs patterns.

After we got back to the Timberhouse, we stitched some more.  Saturday night again wasn't too late of a night.

Sunday mornings are always bittersweet since they are they day we have to come back to reality.  After breakfast we did more stitching and then people starting leaving.  My hubby picked me up around 1pm.

All in all it was a great weekend

OTHER UPDATES

I am in the middle of studying for my first CGA Exam.  It will take place on December 1st.  I am starting to get very nervous.

Last weekend I was feeling really crappy and didnt' get much studying done.  Hubby and I basically watched TV all weekend and I did get some stitching done.  Maybe it was what I needed...

At retreat I started one of the JBW mittens.  After I got the one done, I decided to do the next on the same piece of fabric with a different over-dyed thread.  Then kept going.  This is how is ended
