Weeks 29 and 30 - the nothingness

So again I'm behind on my posts... but the main reason is my stitching bug still has not returned.

I did start something last week, and got a tiny bit of progress on it, but I can't share it

Speaking of last week, I was on holidays... and I did get a lot of knitting done!

Here is my hitchhiker shawl as of Saturday the 28th.

As of last night, I was at 34 of the 42 teeth

Week 25 & 26 - The posts that never happened

Due to getting a horrible summer cold, I didn't get around to posting for week 25.  It is so annoying that a cold was the reason I didn't keep up with my weekly blog posts!!!
This week there hasn't been much stitching due to said cold.
My monthly update will have all updated posts :)

Please return next week for our regularly scheduled posts.

Week 24 - a bit of everything including TUSAL

First up this week was I finished my Year in Chalk for July.  I am using the called for GAST chalk thread and either the called for accent, or something similar I had in my stash.  I am also using Steph's Slate fabric in 32ct linen.

Wednesday night I actually attended at pottery session.  At the Girls Night Out in Cobourg, I made a little pinch pot and this was glazing it.  I will share a pic when I pick it up after it is fired again.  I am hoping to turn it into an ort pot or something else for my stitching.

Thursday I got to work on the next part of Sneek.  Here is my progress to Sunday night

I had worked on Sneek for the rest of the week except on Saturday for a bit.  While visiting my friend Kathy last weekend, I feel in love with her little SAL from Fuzy Fox designs on Etsy. I had seen it before and thought it was adorable, but seeing it in person made me break and I got the pattern parts that have been released.  I looked through my stash and found a fabric that I liked.  This one is also from Steph on 32t Linen.
Here is where the SAL was in April (last full pic I could find)

And here is my start.  The first Cactus is called Astrid

This week was also TUSAL,  Here are my monthly and year to date orts

A note about comments - For some reason we still aren't getting them emailed to us.  I have been bad at trying to reply, but I am going on blogger weekly and looking at them.  So please keep commenting, and I will get better at replying if I can!

Week 23 - ornaments, ikea, and buskers

Monday and Wednesday I worked on and finished my June ornament.
Its a freebie from Barbara Anna Designs
Let it snow - Barbara Anna Designs
Called for DMC, mystery 32ct fabric

No stitching on Tuesday, and I travelled to Whitby to the closest Ikea Pick up point.  Unfortunately, the closest store is over an hour away.
I have been wanting to get some Kallax units for the living room for a while.  I finally saved some money, and then I needed new glasses...
So I managed to do it again and jumped on it, before something else came up.
Once my stitching area is all set up again, I will share pics

Thursday I worked on my Blackwork Tangram again.  Wasn't that done you are asking?... well yes, but I decided to add a border to it
Blackwork Tangram - Peppermint Purple
Called for DMC, border made by me, from another PP design

Saturday was the annual Busker Festival in my town.  I spent a few hours taking it all in.  It was also World Wide Knit in Public Day, so I joined in while I people watched.
Saturday afternoon I went to visit a friend, Kathy.  While there I worked on my July Year in Chalk.

Sunday, after my 2nd knitting class, I continued to work on July year in Chalk.. It was a slow day, but am almost done!

Week 22 - A couple of finishes

Monday and Tuesday I worked on Ink Circles' Tapestry.
Here is where it eventually ended up for the month.  It is now back into the WIP pile, but will be at least partial focus WIP in June

Wednesday I decided it was time to bit the bullet and finally decide on colours for my aunt's wedding sampler.  I knew the pattern and work colours, but that was all.
I worked on this for the rest of the week, except for Friday night, and managed to get it finished!
I just have to iron and take it in for framing.

Bent Creek's Wedding Row
32ct white lugana, Threadworx and DMC

Friday I felt like working on something other than wedding row, so I started and finished the 6th part to the Blackwork Tangram.
Blackwork Tangram - Peppermint Purple
32ct white lugana, recommended DMC
I really enjoyed this, and will be doing the Dutch tiles.  I also picked up a couple of patterns from her Etsy page.  I can see me starting the tea cups in the near future.
Hope you all had a great week!

Week 21 - not much of anything

This was a weird week for me stitching wise... probably due to my weekend plans

Early in the week I did get a few stitches in on Tapestry (including a few on Ink Circles Monday), but haven't posted any update pics.

Thursday night I wasn't feeling Tapestry, so I actually attempted knitting again, and FINALLY was able to complete a not so perfect dishcloth.

Now, for the reason I didn't get much stitching done....
A few months back my friend Amy asked if I would help at a Guide camp... I was a little hesitant to ask, but did agree to it.

I joined her, 2 other leaders, and 15 girls (Brownies/Guides) to Warsaw Caves for the weekend.
Friday night I joined in and made a few crafts which now reside on my new camp hat.

On Saturday, we went for a walk near the caves..  Such a pretty area

Sunday I managed to work on my Blackwork Tangram, and after seeing SOLO (which was a great movie), I was able to complete it
Peppermint Purple Blackwork Tangram SAL
Parts 1-5
Hopefully this week provides more stitching time, and more pics to share

Have  a great week all!

Week 20 - Keeping up with SAL parts

This post is late for 2 reasons... one being Monday was a holiday in Canada, and two, I didn't get an update pic.

No Ink Circles Monday this week.

On Tuesday I did manage to pull Sneek out.  I managed to get part 3 done on Saturday

Before Sneek was done on Saturday, Friday the next part in the Tangram came out.  I jumped on this and got it done on Saturday

Sunday I pulled Tapestry out as I would really like to see a finish on that.  I have a LONG way to go, but progress is progress.
No update pic this week... but there will hopefully be good progress this week.

Speaking of Saturday, I attended the Knowledge and Needles Nashville open house.  This was extra special as my friend Lianne launched her new design company - 1897 Schoolhouse Samplers.  Please check her out on Instagram and Facebook.  Here are some pics from the day.

The booklet is really great quality

The model stitch of "Above the Sky Mary Ann Raywood 1818"

Lianne had a great little table set up for her sampler.

I also got a belated birthday card and GC from my friend Dani, and also a birthday card from my friend Christin.  Christin had already gifted me with my fabric I used for the Long Dog Mystery.  Thanks again ladies!

On Saturday, as well with some other haul, I was able to grab a skein of thread to finish up valentina.  I was happy to put the final stitch in Saturday night!

Ink Circles - Valentiana
32ct white lugana, weeks Islamorada

So all in all a VERY productive week!
Lets hope this week is even half so :)

Week 17 - Death and taxes

Can you hear me excited that April 30th is here!
For those not in Canada, today is tax deadline day.  For someone who works in an accounting firm, this has been much of my life for almost 2 months (in one form or another)

As you can suspect, not much stitching happened this past week, but I did manage a bit

I pulled out tapestry, as I wanted it to be the focus this month. Some progress is better than none

I will share a full pic of where I am in Tapestry when my monthly review gets posted in a couple of days.

This week was also my 40th birthday!
Nothing big, but did enjoy some cupcakes from my co-worker (from Sugar Dust Bakery in Port Hope), flowers from the hubby, and a nice dinner out with my hubby.

Week 16 - Is that you spring?

Morning all
As I write this the sun is actually shinning... maybe there is hope to see spring in April!

Last week was another busy one at work.  I did manage to stitch a bit though!  I feel so much better (especially stress wise) when I do

Monday I had a new start for Ink Circles Monday.  This will also be my new travel project until I get more thread for Valentina and then after that one is done.
Not much of a start... but a start

After that I pulled out my ornament.  I felt like I was running out of time, even though we are only 1/2 way into the month when I started.
I finished early Saturday evening

Next (and last) on my list was a focus WIP.  I had tapestry in mind, and even though I wasn't sure I was feeling it, I decided to go for it.
Here is where it was when I pulled it out

And after some stitches on Sunday.  Not as focused stitching session as I wanted, but progress is progress.

Something else happened this week... I was featured as the Blogger of the week!
It was very weird to actually see posted!

This week I will be busy with work and my Birthday (YAY!!) so I will probably just keep plugging away at Tapestry when I have time.

Can't wait until the 1st when I can bring Year in Chalk and Sneek back out.

Have a great week all!

Week 15 - April?

Morning
It sure is one messy day out there.
We had freezing rain/ice pellets most of the weekend.  Now its pouring down rain.

This week was a BUSY one with work.  I didn't really stitch until Friday night.
I did manage to spend most of Sunday stitching, since I couldn't really go do anything else.

Here is where I started with Sneek

I managed to get part 2 done before bed on Sunday

This week when I have time, I am going to try and get my monthly ornament done.

Week 14 - On track

Monday I pulled out Valentina for Ink Circles Monday.  I need to get a 2nd skein to finish, so this probably won't appear again for a few weeks.  I have another small Ink Circles kitted that can become my travel/Ink Circles Monday project for April.
Ink Circles - Valentina
WDW - Islamorada
Tuesday it was back to May Year in Chalk (Which I started on Sunday) and finished it Wednesday night. (Sorry about the pic... hasn't been ironed yet)

Week 13 - A Fairy gets her wings

This week I wanted to keep focusing on Fairy and get the leaf done.
Here is where you last saw her

I managed to get the leaf done on Tuesday night

Wednesday night I stayed up a little later than planned to get the wings done.

Some sparkle in the wings thanks to Petite treasure braid

Thursday night saw the start to the Fairy dust (aka beads).  Very early Sunday morning I finished the beads, and added my signature.

May I present to you, Fairy Alighting in all her glory
