Update of BFG

I can't believe it has been over 2 weeks since my lost post... I thought I was doing so well!  Oh well.

I do not have a pic to post, but I have made excellent progress on my BFG.  I have finished filling in the green part and and half way through filling in the brown part.

I hope to post some pics after the weekend.

Speaking of which, I have been looking forward to this weekend for weeks now.  Back in August I was introduced by Ann to an amazing group of girls.  In September I was invited to attend Kathy's gathering  and this weekend is Rebecca's gathering.  This group of ladies has inspired me so much... and enabled me just as much! lol.

Hope everyone has an excellent weekend... I am sure we will :)

Progress on BFG

I think I have done pretty well over the past week.

I finished the brown border friday night

I have now started filling in the green part.  This is my first attempt at using hand-dyed floss, but I think I am getting the hang of it.

Well I woke up this morning with a very sore neck, and after 2 muscle relaxers today I think It is finally settling down.  Not 100% but much better....SO..... time to stitch! lol

Hope everyone has a great week

Green Border is done!

Here is my progress on BFG as of last night at 11pm.

I have finished all the green border, and with a tiny bit of green left.  I was so worried after my frog attack.  So hopefully I can do the rest without a repeat visit **knock on wood**

I haven't worked on any of my other WIP's in almost a month... I should but I am sure I will

Hope everyone has a good week!

Nephew, more stitching and my first milestone

This weekend was a little more hectic than I wanted, but tis life.

I woke up Saturday morning and could not get motivated to save my life.  Finally at 12:30 I had a quick shower and got ready for my drive to Kitchener.  I got to stop at Micheals ont he way there, but couldn't find what I wanted (a hoop) so I just left... didn't buy a single thing.
Traffic was heavy, but no big slow downs which was nice.
I sat and talked to my step-nephew Ben for a few minutes and he informed me he got a new kitten.. so I went on the hunt... I fiqured I would get in less trouble if I play with the kitten than waking up my little nephew.. ah he must have sensed I was there (lol)... cause he woke up when I got to the top of the stairs... Kitten will have to wait.. It has been almost 2 months since I saw the little guy and then he was only a week old... He has double in size!  now a healthy 15 lbs.  I didn't get a good picture since he was a little fussy, but I will steal one from his dad from a few days before.

Traffic on the way home was a different story... it seems every time I have to drive home on the 401 in the dark there is road closures due to construction... So my 2 hour drive was more like 2.5 hours.
Sunday was a better day... I got up earlier than normal to head to work to get caught up on my volunteer work.. I do the bookkeeping for the Cobourg Museum Foundation... and I was really behind.
On my way home, I decided to stop and get a much needed hair cut.  Not sure if I am 100% satisfied, but it feels lighter so that is definitely good.  Then I got to my stitching... YAH
I watched Season 5 of Star Gate Atlantis and worked on my Blackstone Fantasy Garden... only stopping to change disks and make dinner.  I packed it in just after 11.  Here is a pic of where I am now.  I just love working on this pattern!
On another note, I got my first 5lb milestone in WW this morning... It has taken me just over a month, but honestly I have not been trying like I should be.. hopefully this will give me the motivation to keep at it!
Hope everyone has a great week!!

3rd stitching day in a row

Yesturday was a holiday monday... need I say more?

It began with dh and I getting up an hour earlier than I thought we did, so I talked him into breakfast at our favourite little spot downtown Cobourg called the Buttermilk Cafe.

When we got home we logged into a online video game that dh got me into a couple of years ago, called City of Heroes.  You create a super hero character and "arrest" bad guys.  It is the only game like this I have been able to get into.  So almost 4 hours later (we did a taskforce), we finally "arrested" the bad guy lol.

After a run out to the grocery store I was back and just itching to stitch.
I put Gilmore Girls Season 7 into the DVD player and got my area a little more organized.
I think I stitched almost all afternoon and evening, only really stopping for dinner... I didn't even log back on to COH at my dh and our freinds request lol.

Well that was my relaxing long holiday monday... I think it went very well!
Here is a pic of my Blackstone Fantasy Garden as of 11:45 last night... I think I did very well!!

2 Stitching Days

Yes... I know I have been a very bad blooger!

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege to go to the Knowledge and Needles open house.  I met some extreamy nice people, especially Dani, Christin, Rebecca, Kathy, Ann and Beatrice.... I know there are more, but I am extreamly bad with names, so I am very sorry.

A few days after, I decided to start my Blackstone Fantasy Garden.  Here is where I was after one night
While at Ann's, I was invited to attend Kathy's stitching weekend, which was this weekend.
I am so glad I went!  I worked a little bit on the wedding sampler, but after an AMAZING lunch, I decided to pull out blackstone.  I worked on it for the rest of Saturday and all of Sunday.
I am so glad I decided to be brave and attend the open house at Knowledge and Needles... I have met some truly amazing women, whom I can't wait to get to know even more as I attend more outings.  I have been invited to another one in October, which I am planning on attending.
As for Blackstone here is my progress pic after my 2 days of stitching (sorry the pic isn't the best)
Again, thanks to the girls for including me and for inspiring me to want to stitch more often!

I STITCHED!!!

It has been over 3 months since my last post, so I figured it was time.

April was busy with Tax Season, and with my FIL's passing.

May didn't bring too much interesting to note. Work, end of the dart season etc.

June has been a bit more interesting. My hubby and I decided last year to get season passes to Canada's Wonderland for this year... I have never had them in my life. We have already been there twice in June and once in May. I actually spent one of those days in the water park... so enjoyable! More exciting though is that over the last week I have actually STITCHED!!! I had a Father-Daughter day last weekend, and went to a new LNS about 30-40 minutes away. My dad bought me 2 Ink Circles designs and I bought 2 myself. I can't wait to start Blackstone Fantasy Garden, but told myself I had to work on a wedding sampler first... well It worked. I have stitched more on the wedding sampler this week then I have in months! I might just get it done for the end of August lol! I hope to post a picture of my progress soon. Below is a picture of Blackstone Fantasy... It looks stunning!

Well I guess this is enough for now... I do hope I can post more often
