2018 Catch up

Where did the last 3 months of 2018 go?  I swear I still can't figure it out!

So I have finally managed to get around to getting a 2018 catch up post done.  I hope I don't miss anything

STITCHING

• Oct 7'18 - Finished the Dutch Tile SAL.  I REALLY enjoyed this! and can't wait to do another SAL with Peppermint Purple.

• Oct 14'18 - Finished November Year in Chalk

• Oct 20'18 - Finished the Durene Jones cat freebie which at the retreat in Michigan (which was awesome, and I have already signed up for next year)

• Nov 2'18 - Finished December Year in Chalk

• Nov 3'18 - While at retreat, I stitched up the Whatever Bitch Unicorn for myself.  I had an extra piece of fabric with me, so Christin stole it and did one for herself.

• Nov 11'18 - FINALLY got around to starting my "Unicorn" pattern, The Red and The Black from Prairie Moon.  I will be doing this on white with a teal accent to hopefully match my stash room some day.

• Dec 26'18 - For the past few years, my friend Becca and I have done a SAL together that starts on the 26 (cause we couldn't wait to do a new start on the 1st of January).  Last year we talked our friend Trista into joining us with Coffee Quaker.  This year, we were talking about it at retreat, and it turned into a bigger SAL.  Dani, Christin, Rebecca, Trista, and Kathy to name a few joined in.

• I also kept my ORTS all year and made into my yearly ornament.  This year I found some cute shaped ornaments to stuff the little bits into.

KNITTING

• Oct 3'18 - Finished first pair of socks (I called them Orange Vanilla)

• Nov 10'18 - Finished 2nd pair of socks and hitchhicker beyond shawl

• Dec 16'18 - Finished first hat, the volcan hat (named for the yarn)

• Dec 23'18 - Finished 3rd pair of socks, my fairy lights socks

Week 13 - A Fairy gets her wings

This week I wanted to keep focusing on Fairy and get the leaf done.
Here is where you last saw her

I managed to get the leaf done on Tuesday night

Wednesday night I stayed up a little later than planned to get the wings done.

Thursday night saw the start to the Fairy dust (aka beads).  Very early Sunday morning I finished the beads, and added my signature.

Week 11 - a finish, a start, and a WIP

First up this week was finishing my ornament.

On Thursday after getting to Retreat (and finally settling) I started Death by Cross Stitch with Dani.

Week 9 - My heart is full

Don't worry readers... I'm not getting mushy on ya!

My week consisted of lots of hearts
Not the beating, pushing blood through your body to keep you alive kind of hearts, but the kind brought to us by Ink Circles.

My fabric for my Long Dog Mystery SAL has finally shipped, but until it arrives, I will be working on April's Year in Chalk and then my monthly ornament.

2018 Week 6 - The cup is finished

This week I decided to get some stitching goals/plans down "on paper".

I continued with Coffee Quaker in the hopes of a happy dance by the end of the month.

This is where I was at for the start of the week:

 

 

I managed to get a bit done by Tuesday, but then it kinda sat for most of the week due to a busy work schedule (including most of Saturday) and the winter blahs

 

 

And this is my progress on Sunday:

That is right.... HAPPY DANCE!!! and my 4th finish for the year!
I seemed to find my rhythm on Sunday and get the bottom part all done. 

It was great to have a lazy day with no work and no school... I truly have missed these days!

Next up will be my monthly ornament (can I go 2 for 2 this year???), March year in chalk, and pulling Cirque de Coeur out to make it my focus for the rest of the month..

2018 Week 4 - some actual stitching

I seem to be back into the swing of stitching after retreat.
I think my stitching bug is still going out for walks, but at least its home for a bit

This week I tried to continue with Cirque des Coeurs
I managed to get a bit more done on the left

 

 

I also worked on my February Year in Chalk... and got it done just in time for February!

For Christmas, my friend Christin gave me the button for Merry Ho Ho.  She gave it to me at retreat, so I thought it was fine to suffer through the rest of the wisper beard and get him done!

2018 Week 3 - Stitchy bug found?

Jan 15-21, 2018

I had a very busy week leading up to retreat weekend.
I still hadn't found that darn stitching bug, so I pretty much took every WIP I had going, including a couple new starts just in case.
It was also IHSW, so I wanted to get some stitching DONE!

The first thing I worked on was Coffee Quaker
I managed to get the top right motif done.

 



 

Next up was a new start.

This year I would like to stitch at least one ornament a month.
In December, I got all the thread for the newest Tiny Tidings (XXII) from Lizzie Kate.

 

So I started with the Merry Christmas one.

Not 100% happy with my fabric choice, so I might end up doing over again.  I will definitely change for the rest.  Mushroom would have been a better choice over ivory.

 

After that I picked up February's Year in Chalk, but the lighting wasn't the greatest with the slate fabric, so after a few stitches it went back into the stitching bag

 

Then I pulled out Cirque des Coeurs and got a bit done.
