2018 Week 3 - Stitchy bug found?

Jan 15-21, 2018

I had a very busy week leading up to retreat weekend.
I still hadn't found that darn stitching bug, so I pretty much took every WIP I had going, including a couple new starts just in case.
It was also IHSW, so I wanted to get some stitching DONE!

The first thing I worked on was Coffee Quaker
I managed to get the top right motif done.

Next up was a new start.
This year I would like to stitch at least one ornament a month.
In December, I got all the thread for the newest Tiny Tidings (XXII) from Lizzie Kate.

So I started with the Merry Christmas one.
Not 100% happy with my fabric choice, so I might end up doing over again.  I will definitely change for the rest.  Mushroom would have been a better choice over ivory.

After that I picked up February's Year in Chalk, but the lighting wasn't the greatest with the slate fabric, so after a few stitches it went back into the stitching bag

Then I pulled out Cirque des Coeurs and got a bit done.

2017 Week 45 and 46 - exciting things and lots of leaves

This week (which i'm starting from November 1st) saw two very exciting things... one stitching and one non-stitching.

First, the non-stitching...
If you have looked at my Instagram account, you would know I am an Ottawa Senators Fan.  Last October it was announced that their farm team (AHL) was moving from up state New York to Belleville Ontario... 45 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE!!! Ottawa games are 3.5 hrs each way, so both Blair and I were VERY EXCITED.  We waiting until season ticket info was announced and I was actually the 2nd person to purchase.
November 1st saw the first home game this year.

Now, for the stitching related thing.
The first weekend in November is the fall retreat which takes place at the Timberhouse Resort in Brighton Ontario.  18 wonderful ladies take over the resort for the weekend, where we all proceed to do lots of stitching and catching up (ok... maybe only some stitching).
November retreat also has an ornament exchange.  This is the amazing work done this year.

This is the ornament I received, stitched by Barb

And this is the one I did - from this years JCS ornament issue

While at retreat, I worked exclusively on Autumn Leaves

I continued to work on Autumn Leaves for the rest of the week.
Progress to November 11
Getting close to a finish!

This past weekend was the first IHSW of the year.  I stitched, but hermiting was done with 17 other people!

You see, I was at the January Retreat!

Post Timberhouse Retreat report

I went, had a great time, and am home.

We stitched, ate, stitched some more, and even did an ornament exchange

For my new readers, we go to a country inn south of Brighton, Ontario called the Timber House.
It is a wonderful place to go and stitch and the owner David and his staff are great!

This was part of my contribution... A vanilla cake

This was our yummy meal for Saturday lunch. We will miss Dan's cooking!!

While there, I worked on my Sampler Gameboard and my Snowy Christmas.
I will be giving an update of those on Tuesday

We also did an ornament exchange
This is the ornament I received done by Sharon. Isn't it great!!!

Dani got my ornament

I will post all the other ornaments later this week when I get the pics off my camera :)

That is it for tonight... Back to working on my assignment and then an early night to bed!

Ornament sal + update

On the weekend I managed to stitch my ornament for June

I decided to keep going with the dragon dreams series. Here is day 6

Speaking of the weekend I went on a little adventure starting Thursday night.
I drove over 900 kms to Arlington Heights, which is a 'burb of Chicago.
Why you ask? Well there was a stitching retreat that I was invited to!

The drive was long, but SO worth it! I don't think I have laughed so hard in my life!!!
Here are a few pics from the weekend

Packed and ready to leave at 6am

Waiting to enter the US

Some amazing finishes at The Rocking Horse

My "nest" for the weekend

One day at lunch - amazing steakhouse!

Most of us went to a steak dinner Saturday night - Emily and I had girly Martinis

After some shopping - trying to get it all in the car!

Sheldon happy I brought him home cherry coke zero!

I am hoping I can get the time off work again and go next year!
