Peer pressure

This weekend was Kathy's annual stitching weekend

Miss Muriel even joined in on the fun. Check out Kathy's blog to see more of Muriel's weekend.

Dani and Christin were "suggesting" I work on Celtic Banner as I was close(ish) to a finish. Friday night I worked on baroque for a bit. I managed to get a motif done.

Saturday morning I fell into peer pressure and brought out Celtic Banner.
This is where I started.

And this is where I was as of last night. Not as much as I wanted to get done, but there was lots of chatting and giggles in between stitches.

And here is the whole thing to date

Update - Halloween town and Celtic banner

It has been a few weeks so I though it was time for an update.

I am trying a weekly theme SAL again (from Facebook), and last week was holiday week. I picked up the AAN Mystery SAL - Halloween town
Left is the start, right is where I stopped last Saturday

After I had enough of the Halloween town, I pulled out Fortunate Traveller but Christin thought it would be a good idea for her to get a little further on hers, so them I pulled out Celtic Banner. I then realized it was Sampler a Week.
Again, start is on left, and today is on the right

This week is choose your own week (SAL runs Sunday to Saturday). I might stay on Celtic Banner, but not sure. After a few hours of driving and shopping, I'm exhausted and not sure I feel like stitching tonight.

Hope you all have had a great weekend!

In depth - Celtic Banner

Celtic Banner is a pattern from Butternut Road

After seeing a whole bunch of these done by my stitching friends, I was happy to buy a copy of the pattern.  I started it in April of this year.

I aleady have the perfect spot picked, in my office where my Growth  Rings hangs at this moment.   even managed to talk Beatrice into helping me finish it :)

I have had a love/hate relationship with this WIP.  I'm not very happy with he Jobelean fabric or the wildflowers thread.  As I keep working on it, I am getting better with both.

The last time I worked on this was late September

ISHW September 2013

Well I managed to actually hermit yesterday and work on my Celtic banner.

Here was my progress before Friday night (per WIPocolypse post)

I managed to get the mandala done last night

Pretty good I would say!!!

Today I have been working on my assignment and now taking a break. I am trying a rotation in a different way. Instead of a particular project, it goes with a theme and runs Sunday to Saturday. I managed to get 2 weeks on CB in using creative interpretation (borders/confetti was 2 weeks ago and last week was minis)

This week is your oldest WIP. I'm pretty sure that belongs to Fish City, but think I will work on Bramble mostly with only an evening or two of fish city.... We will see

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

WIPocolypse Sept 2013

It has been a long time since I have done a Wipocolypse... April to be exact

I'm not going to update everything, as I only have a few hours of stitching time this weekend. I did do a big update at the beginning if September though.

I will update you with Celtic Banner

This was where it was at last Wipocolypse

And this is where I am tonight

August/September 2013 goals + big update

First my recap from August
1) stitch an ornament DONE

2) decide on ornament for November maybe, but not 100% sure yet

3) focus piece NOPE

So I guess August wasn't so much of a success, even though I did do some stitching.... More on that later

Goals for September
1) Stitch an ornament

2) Start ornament for November retreat

3) try and steal a few hours a week to stitch... Yep it's course time again. I'm doing my first level 4 and there is lots of reading. I just hope to keep up with reading and reward myself with productive stitching

Now on to what I have actually done
I didn't keep great track of what I worked on during August so I have decided to give an update on all my WIPS.

Aury TM's Snowy Christmas

Teresa Wentzler's, Fortunate Traveller

Cross Stitch Collectibles, Autumn Leaves

Ink Circles, Rosetta

The Drawn Thread, Sampler Game-board

Told in a Garden, Celtic Banner

Ink Circles, Bramble and the Rose

Viotas XStitch, Tuscany Farmhouse

Stoney Creek, Fish City

Heaven and Earth Designs, Magic Evening

Celtic banner and a new start

I managed to stay on rotation the past week. For the second round I decided to give my Celtic Banner some love

Before

After

Not a ton done, but not too bad!

On Sunday I started the Tuscan Farmhouse from Yiota's XStitch.

Not too bad for sleeping in and puttering around in my PJ's all day!

Tonight I have stitched nothing. I counted my WIPS in my WIP basket and stitching bag... 12! And guess what... None are calling me at all!!!
Hopefully it is just tonight and not a long term thing! No more new starts until I get at least something done!!!

WIPocalypse April 2013

What a month!  I can't wait until April is over.  Tired of tax season of all the stresses it brings.

I have managed to stitch this month, which is my stress relief, so that is good :)

The theme for April 25 was:  Designer – Mirabilia, Style – Samplers, Colors – Blue and Orange

I was impressed with myself that I actually managed to work on my Mirabilia.  Not much, but hey something is better then nothing!

Sabrina - April 25'13
I also worked on the following this month

Lizzie Kate - ABC Christmas
April 25'13

Celtic Banner - April 25'13

HAED - April 25'13

Ink Circles Rosetta - April 25'13
