August 2018 plans update

How crazy is it that it is already September!

As you can tell, I am still behind in my blog posts.  I have been doing a bit of stitching though... so that is good.

Until I get 100% back on track, I will be doing monthly goals plans and then the recap.

Now... lets see how I did in August!

1) Ornament a month - NOPE
  • I have started one, but it didn't get finished
2) Year in Chalk - YES
  • I did complete September, but it isn't laced yet... hopefully tonight

3) SALS - YES AND NO
  •  I have not made any progress on Sneek or the cactus SAL
  • I HAVE made progress on the Dutch Tile SAL.  Currently on part 5!

4) MYSTERY SAL - YES!!!
  • If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I stitched my wonderful friend Lianne's second release - Hearts Aflutter.  She is designing under 1897 schoolhouse samplers and you should totally check it out!
  • Here is my interpretation as I made a couple of small changes

All in all, still not back to Pre July, but definitely better than July.
Lets see what September brings... and just remember
IT ISN'T FALL UNTIL THE 23RD!!!

2017 catchup - October

Here is the last of my catch up posts!
I will get November posts up in the next few days and then hopefully weekly again!

Even though I like the ease of Instagram, I have missed blogging.

October
The first 2 weeks of October saw a MUCH NEEDED VACATION.  I didn't make any big plans, just relaxing time and a few short trips.  The one thing we did plan was to back to Quebec City for Thanksgiving.

The first thing on the list for October was to get the buttons on Santa's Village.
It is now FINALLY DONE!

Leaves got some much needed love this month as I push to finish this year.
Progress during the month:
October 15:

October 30th

The biggest thing in October wasn't actually stitching related.
I officially graduated from University with an Honours Bachelors of Commerce from Laurentian University.  Blair, our mom's and I traveled the 6 hrs to attend.  Long drive but totally worth it!
So with that... the education portion of my accounting designation is now done.  Just have to sit down and make sure I have all the professional experience and get that paperwork done... just have to find some time!

2017 catchup - August and September

I'm getting caught up!
Just a few more and then we will be up to date.
Which I really want... as I have a surprise to share!

August
I had a tiny start and finish in the fist few days of August.  My friend Shanna had mentioned she wanted this a while ago, and thought her and Mike's new move to the big City of Toronto (and a new job for her) was the perfect time.
I love this... and hope to stitch it for myself :)

Leaves was of course worked on - it is time to finish this!

Tapestry was also given a tiny bit of love - I'm having issues keeping focused on this one.

September

Leaves Leaves Leaves!  On labour day weekend I was invited to stitch with Kathy and a few other stitching friends.  Even though I brought other projects, I stayed focused on my leaves.

During that time, I realized I really needed to get a finish on Santa's Village as well... this one needed to get out of my WIP pile.  I finished the last of the stitching on the last village.... now just to get those buttons on!

2017 catchup - June and July

Can you believe we are in November already!  I sure can't.
Seriously!  Where has this year gone!

In preparation to blog more in 2018, here is a re-cap of what I've been up to.
Doing in parts to not totally bore you all!

June
Reflections of Canada got some more love in early June, and saw a FINISH on June 4th

Santa's Village was pulled out of storage for some stitching but not much... I truly had a hard time staying with this one.

The last project that got some attention in June was Touching The Autumn Sky.

July
July was a crazy month for me with studying for 2 University Exams.  Even though they were 1/2 credit courses, that didn't mean the study time decreased.

Cirque des Coeur saw some attention

As well as my leaves.

I also saw something new and shinny in July... A NEW CAR!  We finally became a 2 person household which was much needed with Blair commuting for work.
Meet my 2017 Kia Soul in Wild Orange.

2017 catchup - April & May

Can you believe we are in November already!  I sure can't.
Seriously!  Where has this year gone!

In preparation to blog more in 2018, here is a re-cap of what I've been up to.
Doing in parts to not totally bore you all!

April 2017
As some of you may remember, April is a busy time for me as I work in an accounting firm.  I did manage some stitching though...

First project I worked on was Autumn Leaves.

Next up was Tapestry

Another Ink Circles pattern - Pizzazz was also given some love in April.

May 2017
On May 1st, a few stitching friends and I started TW's Fantasy Triptych.
This is as far as I got
This is as far as I got

Pizzazz also was given more love and a finish happened on the 15th!

After Pizzazz, Reflections of Canada saw some much needed love.

2017 Week 9 - Autumn Sky... say what?

This week it was time for Miss Autumn (aka Touching the Autumn Sky) to get some love
I don't believe I have shared this one with you yet. Dani, Christin, Bekka, and I started this on the first day of Autumn. Well I actually didn't... I had a fabric delay, but got started soon after.

Here is miss Autumn to date. I'm stitching her on Steph's Blue Sky (I think that's the name!)

This week I will be giving some love to the only wip I haven't touched this year... any guesses?

2017 Week 8 - Tapestry and rememberance

Monday Feb 20th was a holiday on Ontario - Family Day. My friend Rebecca (Bekka Stitches) and I have been talking about starting Ink Circles Tapestry since late last year. Well we finally managed to settle on a date and I thought a holiday Monday was perfect!

I am stitching this with the recommended over-dyes and on Steph's Carmel Macchiato (32ct Linen)

This is where I got to by Sunday (26th)

This week I also learned of a friends passing. Linda was an amazing women, and I will remember the stitching time we had together. Lots of laughs for sure, and anyone who knew her definitely will remember that amazing laugh. She was the one who told me about Ann at Knowledge and Needles, and from that I have met some amazing ladies who I consider very close friends. For that, I will always be thankful.

2017 Week 7 - The ornament that wasn't

I worked on the Blair's blanket for a good part of the week.

But I also attempted to work on my ornament for February (I'm behind on January too... you haven't missed it).
I had an epic counting fail, but instead of giving up, I decided to try a different pattern.

This time I picked The Prairie Schoolers Cranberry Christmas.
This is my small progress

So still not much on the stitching front, but I hope to have more this week!

2017 Week 6 - The stitching that was

It took until Thursday, but I did manage to actually stitch last week!

Here is where you last saw Cirque Des Coeurs from Ink Circles

I was hoping I would get the bottom outline done... and I DID!

Some stitching is better then none, and I'm happy this finally got some love.

Not sure what is on the agenda this week, but will hopefully fit a few minutes of stitching in!

2017 Week 5 - The stitching that wasn't

Well my friends, I don't have much of an up update today... not much at all!

This past week was absolutely insane... with work, my Uni course, and overall feeling exhausted. The first time I even thought about stitching was Saturday, and then I didn't even pull a WIP out.

On Sunday, late afternoon, I finally pulled out a WIP and managed to get a few stitches in.

So... I have decided to keep out the WIP, Cirque des Coeurs, for an extra week just to make sure it actually felt loved.

I haven't taken a pic of my measly few stitches, but here is where it was the last time I posted.

Fingers crossed I can get the bottom outline done!

Hope everyone is well, and catch you all next week!

2027 Week 4 - Pizzazz

This past week I gave Pizzazz from Ink Circles some love.

Here is where I started:

This one seemed to be frog infested. After I made a new working copy, they seemed to go away. I still managed to make some decent progress:

Not sure what will be on the rotation this week. For now I'm relaxing and working on a crocheted blanket for Blair.

2017 Week 3 - Autumn Leaves and a non-ornament ornament

Evening all
I'm relaxing tonight after spending a wonderful weekend with 15 other ladies at the Winter retreat

I decided to pull out Autumn Leaves for this week knowing that I had extra time to stitch at retreat

Start:

Progress:

As well as trying to blog more often (weekly is plan), I am attempting TUSAL this year and also an ornament a month. Well it definitely helps to look at the stitch count before you pull a pattern for an ornament.
The one I pulled for January is definitely a little big for an ornament. This changes my plans for my next 11 ornaments, but it's not a big deal... that's why we collect patterns right? :)
Here is where I am with Lizzie Kate's Merry Ho Ho

2017 Week 2 - Reflections of Canada

How is it already half way through January!?! Absolutely crazy!

This week I decided to give Reflections of Canada some love.

This is where I started

I was hoping to get more done, but a frog came to visit.

Here is my Instagram side by side view

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Week 1 - Canada Sampler

Happy New Year everyone!!
January 1 was a new start with some stitchy friends
This year we are doing the Canada Sampler from Stitchrovia

I have worked on it all week and managed to get some good progress in.
It helped having no plans on Jan 1st and no university course this week.
I am contemplating a rotation again (Monday - Sunday), but I am really enjoying this! I might just give it a second round! My next University course starts today, so this week probably won't see as much progress, but some is better then none!

Hope you all have a fabulous week
Bonnie

Catch up

I knew I haven't blogged in a while, but since the beginning of May! Crazy

Work and my Uni course are keeping busy for sure.

Here is a picture summary of what I've been stitching

I started Begin Row from Bent creek around the 8th of May...

And I finished Begin Row around May 29th

I really enjoyed this one!

I finally got around to stitching one of the Just Nan critters

I found an almost finished ornament and finished it

I've also worked on my Seba Cubes, cirque des Coeur, and Santa's Village

I also have one new start. On July 1st I started Reflections of Canada (Ink Circles)
