Week 19 - Stitching and Margaritas

A day last this time... what can I say.. Adulting is hard

Here is a re-cap of my week

On Monday, I worked on Dragons for Ink Circles Monday.  Only a tiny bit of border got done

Tuesday I worked on my Lizzie Kate ornament, and finished it on Wednesday
Snowy House - Lizzie Kate Tiny Tidings XXII
WDW and 32ct mushroom
Saturday, I finished Merry Christmas V2.0.  Looks so much better on Mushroom!
Merry Christmas - Lizzie Kate Tiny Tidings XXII
WDW, DMC, 32ct Mushroom
Saturday I also pulled out and finished week 3 on the Blackwork Tangram SAL from Lakeside Needlecraft and Peppermint Purple
Blackwork Tangram SAL - Weeks 1-3
As you can see, no stitching on Thursday or Friday.  I can't remember what happened on Thursday, but Friday I met up with some ladies and attended the Girls Night out in Cobourg.
It was a fun night!

On our way to a pottery class, post 1 martini :)

El Camino in Cobourg makes amazing Margaritas!
My favourite is the Black Margarita

May 2018 Plans

1) ORNAMENT A MONTH
  • Its time for the last ornament from Tiny Tidings XXII.
  • I am thinking about re-doing the first one to have the fabric match... will see how the month goes.
2) YEAR IN CHALK
  • June is kitted and ready to go
3) SAL - Long Dog Samplers Mystery - Sneek
  • Start and finish Part 3
4) NEW SAL - Lakeside Needlecraft Blackwork Tangram
  • There is a new blackwork SAL from Lakeside Needlecraft and Peppermint purple on Facebook.  I did part 1 in a few hours so keeping up with this one shouldn't be hard
5) FOCUS WIP
  • I am having a hard time deciding what project to make a focus this month... so I might just work on the monthly stuff first and then go from there.
6) INK CIRCLES MONDAY
  • Every Monday give an ink circles pattern at least a little love.
  • Use the hashtags #InkCirclesMonday and #ICM on social media
  • For more information, see April 2018 plans post
7) FULL COVERAGE
  • After looking over my WIP list, I realized I haven't given my full coverage project (Buen Appetito from Charting Creations) any love in a REALLY long time.  Not sure how I will work this in to the plan, but I need to start putting a bit of stitches in this!
  • Does anyone else have a day set aside for full coverage?

  • April 23rd - Kept going with Tapestry, since it was out from the weekend

  • April 30th - got home at a decent time and pulled Oscar's Corsage back out

How did you do in April?  Accomplish your goals?

Week 16 - Is that you spring?

Morning all
As I write this the sun is actually shinning... maybe there is hope to see spring in April!

Last week was another busy one at work.  I did manage to stitch a bit though!  I feel so much better (especially stress wise) when I do

Monday I had a new start for Ink Circles Monday.  This will also be my new travel project until I get more thread for Valentina and then after that one is done.
Not much of a start... but a start

After that I pulled out my ornament.  I felt like I was running out of time, even though we are only 1/2 way into the month when I started.
I finished early Saturday evening

Next (and last) on my list was a focus WIP.  I had tapestry in mind, and even though I wasn't sure I was feeling it, I decided to go for it.
Here is where it was when I pulled it out

And after some stitches on Sunday.  Not as focused stitching session as I wanted, but progress is progress.

Something else happened this week... I was featured as the Blogger of the week!
It was very weird to actually see posted!

This week I will be busy with work and my Birthday (YAY!!) so I will probably just keep plugging away at Tapestry when I have time.

Can't wait until the 1st when I can bring Year in Chalk and Sneek back out.

Have a great week all!

April 2018 Plans

Here are my plans for the month of April
Still a good list, but not as much as work will be consuming a lot of my time.

1) ORNAMENT A MONTH
  • Continue a start and finish on one part of the newest Tiny Tidings (xxii)
2) YEAR IN CHALK
  • Start and Finish May
3) SAL - Long Dog Samplers Mystery - Sneek
  • Start and finish Part 2 (currently one part behind)
4) FOCUS WIP
  • I haven't decided 100% what my next focus will be.  I have decided to work on the above three items first and then see what calls to me
5) INK CIRCLES MONDAY
  • I would like to get back to this.  I think it is time for Valentina, my travel project, to get a finish and this small design would be good for April.
For those curious, it was created by 2 friends (Christin and Becca) and I since we all wanted to get some progress done on our Ink Circles.  Christin and Becca have a SAL and Becca and I have one too... so its a nice way to get some progress done.
Please join us on Instagram with the hash tag #InkCirclesMonday if you want!

Week 10 - 3 starts, one finish

How is it already the 10th week of 2018?!?

Since Cirque des Coeur was finished, and fabric for Sneek still hadn't arrived, I pulled out Year in Chalk Sunday night.
These are quick little stitches, and Monday night I managed to finished it

Year in Chalk (April) - Hands on Design
Fabric by Stephanie - 32ct linen Slate
GAST - Chalk and Ohio Lemon Pie

Before I was able to pull out the next focus WIP, my fabric for the Long Dog Mystery arrived!
I had to start this right away!
This is the best pic of the fabric I got... and I can't seem to get that angle again to get the fabric captured correctly again.

32ct slate blue
Threadworx Reflections (10302)

I managed to get Part 1 done Sunday afternoon.  Some people who have posted have a bit more done, but I'm waiting until I can stitch an entire motif.

Sneek - Part 1
This mystery SAL is exclusive to Sew and So

After Sneek was done I started my ornament for March.  I have a busy 3 days of work this week and knew it wouldn't be a good idea to get out anything big.
This is as far as I got before bed on Sunday
Lizzie Kate Tiny Tidings XXII
Mr and Mrs Santa
Plus, I have another new start this weekend at Retreat!

March 2018 Plans

Here are my plans for the month of March

1) ORNAMENT A MONTH
  • Continue a start and finish on one part of the newest Tiny Tidings (xxii)
  • I think I also have a plan for after the 5 are done... but more on that later...
2) YEAR IN CHALK
  • Start and Finish April
3) FOCUS WIP
  • Continue working on Cirque des Coeur (Ink Circles) - I should be able to get this one done in March!
4) SAL - Long Dog Samplers Mystery - Sneek
  • Start and finish Part 1 (currently one part behind)
5) NEW START
  • At March retreat, I will FINALLY be starting Death by Cross Stitch! Dani and I are starting together, as both of us have finished our BAP's :)
6) 2nd FOCUS WIP
  • Fairy Alighting is on deck to become the focus piece once cirque is done

With work getting busier, this might be more of a challenge... but if I stitch a bit every day I should be good. The only plan I don't see getting finished is #4 - the SAL.  But if I don't finish part 1 its not a huge deal... I will just work on the rest of it in April with part 2.  I just don't' want to get toooo far behind :)

2018 Week 7 - 2 finishes and a WIP with progress

I was a good girl and pulled out Cirque des Coeur on Monday... which really worked since it was Ink Circles Monday and I haven't participated in a while again

This was the last full pic I took

And this is where I was on the left on Monday when I pulled it back out:

On Tuesday, I decided to pull out the ornament.  It was actually bittersweet as this was also the day I found out that Lizzie Kate was retiring at the end of March.  I will especially miss the annual Santa's and Tiny Tidings!
This little thing seemed to take forever but I finally finished it on Saturday.

Next up was to work on the Year in Chalk for March.  I started it Saturday night, and worked on this most of Sunday.  I'm hoping I can find some time this coming weekend to mount it and get it ready for display on Thursday.

After YIC, I was a very good little stitcher and got Cirque des Coeur back out.
Here is progress on it after the weekend

Since I can't work this coming Saturday, I will be putting some extra hours in at work.  I hope to work on Cirque when ever I can.

Hope you all had a great week!
