Oldest WIP - WU February 15th

Sorry for the delay in posts... Been busy with an assignment and playing catch up in course work

The week ending February 15th was oldest WIP week

First I pulled out Bramble and the Rose. Here is where I got to before deciding that this project had annoyed me enough to be placed in the UFO pile

Next on the list was Rosetta
Here is where I was as of Monday (10th) night

And here is where I made it too on Saturday the 15th

Was happy to get that motif done! Only 8 to go!
Since it is my oldest WIP, it would be nice for that theme to come up once a month... This could be done this year!

The theme for the week ending February 22nd is "Something with Wings"

February 2014 Wipocolypse

It's time for another Wipocolypse post. If you want more information on what that is, check out Measi's Blog

First the Stitchers question:
How many projects do you generally feel comfortable having in progress at a time? Tell us about your one-at-a-time or rotation habits!

I don't know the exact number I feel comfortable with, but I do know it would be less then I have. This year I moved a few WIP's to the UFO pile, the last one being bramble and the rose.

Since I have many on the go, I'm obviously not a one at a time stitcher. Lately I've been doing a weekly theme rotation I found on Facebook. I find this actually does help! I also use creative license to make a WIP fit in a theme if it's calling to me.

Okay now for my progress:

First up is Santa's Village
I finished Santa's house on February 2nd

On February 7th I started the AAN mystery SAL called Halloween Town
I'm using Stephs bewitched, and the called for DMC. I finished part 1 on the 9th

Next up for themes was my oldest WIP. I first pulled out bramble, but after a few hours it finally went to the UFO pile

After bramble, I pulled out my next oldest WIP which also happens to be a design by Ink Circles - Rosetta
Here is progress to last night

I think that is it for the month, according to my journal anyway!

In depth - Rosetta

Rosetta is an Ink Circles pattern

The model was stitched in Gloriana's Cranberry on 40ct. R&R Espresso Linen

My version was also on 40ct, but mine is just on white.

Speaking of 40ct... if you haven't tried it yet DO!  I was so apprehensive about trying it until Dani got me to put a fwe stitches in an ornament of hers.   I just loved it and haven't looked back :)

After seeing someone on Facebook using Mosaic by Threadworks, I knew that was he thread I wanted for this pattern.  I just love the colours!

I stated rosetta in June of 2012.  I really enjoy this pattern but it doesn't get love very often :(
I haven't even touched it since my last updated in September

Here is where I am at with Rosetta

August/September 2013 goals + big update

First my recap from August
1) stitch an ornament DONE

2) decide on ornament for November maybe, but not 100% sure yet

3) focus piece NOPE

So I guess August wasn't so much of a success, even though I did do some stitching.... More on that later

Goals for September
1) Stitch an ornament

2) Start ornament for November retreat

3) try and steal a few hours a week to stitch... Yep it's course time again. I'm doing my first level 4 and there is lots of reading. I just hope to keep up with reading and reward myself with productive stitching

Now on to what I have actually done
I didn't keep great track of what I worked on during August so I have decided to give an update on all my WIPS.

Aury TM's Snowy Christmas

Teresa Wentzler's, Fortunate Traveller

Cross Stitch Collectibles, Autumn Leaves

Ink Circles, Rosetta

The Drawn Thread, Sampler Game-board

Told in a Garden, Celtic Banner

Ink Circles, Bramble and the Rose

Viotas XStitch, Tuscany Farmhouse

WIPocalypse April 2013

What a month!  I can't wait until April is over.  Tired of tax season of all the stresses it brings.

I have managed to stitch this month, which is my stress relief, so that is good :)

The theme for April 25 was:  Designer – Mirabilia, Style – Samplers, Colors – Blue and Orange

I was impressed with myself that I actually managed to work on my Mirabilia.  Not much, but hey something is better then nothing!

Sabrina - April 25'13
I also worked on the following this month

Lizzie Kate - ABC Christmas
April 25'13

Celtic Banner - April 25'13

HAED - April 25'13

Ink Circles Rosetta - April 25'13

WIPocalypse report for January 2013

It looks like another full moon, which means it is time for another WIPocalypse post.
If you don't know what it is all about, please check it out!
This year Measi has also added themes to add to the fun.  The theme for this month is:

Theme: Introduce yourself, your projects, and any goals you have for the year!

Well my name is Bonnie I am live in a small town east of Toronto, ON.  I have been stitching for quite a few years, but my passion have grown 10 fold since meeting a great group of ladies almost 5 years ago who are great enablers.  I also have been enabled by a great group on Facebook called the Superstar Serial Starters and Divine Disciplined Divas (SSS/DDD)

My WIP's at the beginning of the year are (and in no particular order):

As of today, I have only worked on Smaug and the Lizzie Kate

Christmas ABC @ January 26'13

Smaug @ January 26'13

This year I planned to do 2 new starts on January 1st.  I started the AAN Maple leaf with my stitching friends, and the Sampler Gameboard as a SAL with the SSS/DDD Board on Facebook.
The gameboard was started in the afternoon, but haven't managed to work on it much since then.

Sampler Gameboard @ January 6'13

I stayed up until midnight on new years to start the maple leaf.  It was a fun stitch and managed to finish it on January 14th.

AAN - Maple leaf
January 1-14 2013

My goals for the year at the moment are:

  • Finish Smaug - hopefully by the end of spring if not sooner

  • Start Belle's Letters (B) by GigiR on February 1st with the SSS/DDD Facebook group

  • Start Fortunate Traveller with Dani, Christin, and Beatrice on May 1st.

  • Stitch an ornament a month

  • Re-start my HAED (for the 3rd time) and try to get a page done.

  • Try to reduce the other WIP's I have going.

I do have a few other little finishes to share, but will wait until the Ornament SAL post at the end of the month :)

W(h)ip it good SAL update

Yesterday I didn't get as much stitching in as I planned, but still managed to get a nice bit done

I did get a bit more after this pic was taken, including some back-stitching

I am having a weird day today (you know you have this weird feeling that you can't shake) so going to switch to Rosetta for the rest of the day.

Here is where I'm starting from

Have a great day!

October IHSW

This weekend is IHSW!!
Unfortunately, I won't be able to do much hermiting. Today I went on a road trip n my new car :)

I dropped hubby off at work (poor hubby) and then drove about 40min to have dinner with my dad. Then I went and met with my friend Amy in my hometown which I haven't even drove through since Christmas!! The big (NOT) town of Keene was celebrating a pumpkin festival today and I went down with her and her family. After a bit down there I left Keene and headed to Peterborough (about 30 min) for a quick visit with my mom. I ended up staying longer then planned and did some shopping with her (actually found a pair of shoes yah!!). Back on the road again, I decided to drop in on my Aunt. After a short visit with her, I am finally home!

So back to stitching...
Even though I should be working on Blair's dragon, Rosetta is calling me at the moment. Here is where it is at the moment.

Will post tomorrow night or Monday with progress. I just hope my assignment goes well tomorrow and allows for more stitchy time :)
