I was trying to think of a blog post and decided to go with the same thing Christin posted.
Given the option, would you rather buy a chart and get the material and floss together yourself, or buy a pre-packed kit?
I used to buy kits all the time... until I learned there was more to cross-stitch than kits.
When I did buy kits in the past 5 years or so, I always swapped out the fabric. I am not a fan of working with Aida any more.
I am currently doing a pattern from a kit for my hubby. I swapped out the fabric, but wish I had of swapped the thread too... HATE IT!
So I guess to answer the question, I would rather get the material and floss myself.
Well I am off to watch a Movie and relax for a few hours before bed. Tomorrow and Thursday are study days before my exam on Thursday night.

I used to really like Pine Mountain kits, but recently they use really crappy fabric and I usually change up the colors......soooooooooo, they really aren't cost effective.
I think I prefer to pick a chart and then pick all my own fabric, floss, embellishments.
However, Shepherd's Bush kits still draw my attention!
I normally change the fabric as well... hate to do detailed backstitch or fractionals on Aida...
